Tecnopolo Bologna ECMWF DataCentre<\/h1>\n
L’Italia ospiterà una nuova eccellenza: il nuovo data center del Centro Europeo per le Previsioni Meteorologiche a Medio-Termine<\/strong><\/a> (ECMWF), con uno dei dieci super computer più potenti al mondo.<\/p>\n
La sede sarà il nuovo Tecnopolo<\/span> di Bologna<\/a>, e il data center analizzerà dati provenienti da satelliti, stazioni di terra, boe marine, aerei e navi in tutto il mondo<\/strong>, fornendo previsioni meteorologiche a tutti gli Stati membri dell’Unione Europea, oltre a informazioni chiave per i servizi meteo nazionali e per la protezione civile.<\/p>\n

Tecnopolo Bologna ECMWF DataCentre<\/h2>\nOltre al data center<\/a> del Centro Europeo per le Previsioni Meteorologiche, il nuovo campus da 120.000 mq, sviluppato riconvertendo gli edifici dell’ex Manifattura Tabacchi, comprenderà alcune delle più importanti eccellenze del settore: il supercomputer Leonardo, l’Agenzia Italia Meteo, l’Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, enti della ricerca e universitari e aree comuni per le startup del settore R&D.<\/p>\n
In questo hub internazionale dei Big Data e delle nuove tecnologie si concentrerà oltre l’80% della potenza di calcolo nazionale e il 20% di quella europea.<\/strong><\/p>\n
La struttura sarà dotata di pannelli solari che forniranno energia rinnovabile, e di sistemi di raffreddamento basati sull’utilizzo di acqua di falda e dry cooler<\/a>.<\/p>\n
